Idiosyncratic animations plagued by the struggling artist attempting to escape creative stagnation.
Hey, my name is Thomas Reynolds and I am an undergrad at USF pursuing a B.F.A with a concentration in Animation. I avidly enjoy punishing myself by spreading my self too thin across this canvas we call life as I strive to improve in multiple mediums simultaneously. Some of these mediums include photography, videography, script-writing, storyboarding,3d animation, digital modeling, digital illustration, painting, sculpture, graphic design, networking, and the list goes on continuing on to my gravestone. In this class, I really hope to get a very informed understanding of the technical aspects of toon boom harmony. I also really want to understand the 12 principles of animation better and how to actively apply them as I am still in awe at the craftsmanship of the nine old men from Disney. I am excited to start doing walk cycles, talking heads, and applying emotive movement to really convey a story as we eventually mash sound in with animation. There is so much to learn as I run this marathon in an attempt to escape stagnation. I am too excited for this semester and hopefully, by the end of this semester, I can masterfully depict that expression in 2d.
